Cats In Literature

Considering my love of English, and my future goal to become an English teacher, here are a few books that feature...CATS!

The story The Black Cat by Edgar Allen Poe featured a black cat named Pluto.

Of course I had to include The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss. What childhood is complete without reading this story?

There are two cats featured in Alice In Wonderland, one of my all time favorite books. There's the mischevious Chesire Cat, and Alice's cat Dinah.

Where there;s magic there's cats. Jk Rowling included a few cats in Harry Potter, including Hermione's cat Crookshanks, Mrs. Figgs cat, and Filch's cat Mrs. Norris.

Even Shakespeare included cats in his writing. In MacBeth the witches' cat, Gray-Malkin.

Louisa May Alcott's character Beth had several kittens in the story Little Women.
